SKANSKA, working on behalf of National Highways, are creating a new junction on the M42 and constructing a dual carriageway between this new junction and Clock Interchange.

To create the new junction (5a) they will install two new bridges across the M42.  To complete this work safely, the M42 will be closed in both directions between junctions 5 and 6 for three nights from Midnight Saturday 15 October to 5am Monday 17 October.

Solihull Road is now expected to be open for traffic in February 2023. 

Clearly signed diversion routes will be in place during the closures. These have been agreed with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council

The closures may cause delays for traffic travelling along the M42. Plan ahead and allow additional time for your journeys, considering alternative routes where possible.
