There will be TWO sets of road closures affecting the A446 from 22 November. This is to allow HS2 Works to be carried out.
Firstly, there will be a temporary single lane closure along a short section of the A446 northbound off Northway Island. This will take place from Monday 22 November for three weeks, from 9:30am to 3:30pm.
The closure is in place so that LM (a joint venture between Laing O’Rourke and J. Murphy & sons, carrying out early HS2 works) can plant trees and vegetation in the area as part of preparatory works for the future construction of HS2.
These measures will be carried out in conjunction with a new, permanent direction of travel for road users around Northway Island and occasional off-peak single lane closures around the longabout, on the way to the NEC, and along short sections of the B4438 and Northway.
Secondly, there will also be a temporary overnight single lane closure on the A446 Stonebridge Road at Quartz Point from 22 November for one month, from 8pm to 6am.
The closure is in place to allow Western Power Distributions (WPD) to undertake cable diversions in the vicinity of the HS2 Interchange Station site.
Access to all buildings and businesses in the area will be maintained.
