There will be overnight lane closures along the M42 and exit slip road closure off the M6 junction in December 2021 installed by LM (Laing O’Rourke and J. Murphy & Sons) on behalf of HS2.
When the future HS2 Interchange Station is operational, four new highways bridges will connect the current road network to new routes we are creating in this area. The first of these new highways bridges was safely installed in August 2020 over the M42. This year, LM will carry out various activities to fully complete the construction of these brides including monitoring before ownership is handed over to the highways authority
To carry out this work safely, LM will install temporary, overnight lane closures along sections of the M42 northbound and southbound, from 10pm on Wednesday 15 December to 5am on Thursday 16 December.
From 10pm on Wednesday 15 December to 5am on Thursday 16 December, the hard shoulder along sections of the M6 northbound junction 4 link road to the M42 southbound junction 7a will also be closed, as well as the southbound exit slip road off M6 junction 4. A signed diversion route will be in place for road users during the exit slip road closure.
