Platinum Jubilee Grant Application – Deadline 6 March 2022

In 2022, Her Majesty The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, seventy years of service. There will be year-long Platinum Jubilee celebrations throughout the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and around the world as communities and people come together to celebrate The Queen’s historic reign.

An extended bank holiday, from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 June, will provide an opportunity for communities and people throughout the United Kingdom to come together to celebrate the historic milestone. Across the four days the celebrations will include public events and community activities, as well as national moments of reflection on The Queen’s 70 years of service. 

To assist community groups and individuals to come together and celebrate the Jubilee, Bickenhill & Marston Green Parish Council is helping the community to celebrate this historic event by offering two grant schemes. To apply, you must either be a resident of Bickenhill & Marston Green Parish or a local community group. The event must also take place within Bickenhill & Marston Green Parish. 

Community Events 

This scheme offers grants of up to £500 to constituted community groups to deliver events to celebrate this momentous occasion. The community based activities must take place during the four day UK bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June 2022. All you have to do to apply is complete the application form, telling us what you are thinking of doing, where and when. 

Street Parties 

This scheme provides grants of £100 to community groups and individuals to help them co-ordinate and deliver street parties to celebrate this historic milestone. The celebration must take place during the four day UK bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June 2022. All you have to do to apply is complete the application form, telling us what you are thinking of doing, where and when and get signatures from five local residents to support your idea.
