National Highways will be making the following safety and capacity improvements to the M42 at Junction 6:
- a new 2.4km dual carriageway link road between the A45 Clock Interchange and a new junction on the M42 south of junction 6
- a new junction 5a on the M42 motorway
- two new roundabouts on either side of the M42 motorway
- a new footbridge over the A45
Once complete, the upgrade will reduce congestion at junction 6 and allow better movement of traffic on and off the A45. The work will improve journey reliability, make it easier to get to key businesses including Birmingham Airport and the NEC and improve the travelling experience for cyclists and walkers.
Later this month National Highways will hold public information events so the project team can share updates about how the scheme is progressing and answer any questions. These will take place at the following:
- 24 September, 11.00-20.00: Catherine de Barnes Village Hall, 97 Hampton Lane, Catherine de Barnes, B91
- 27 September, 10.00-19.00: Arden Hotel & Leisure Club Henley Suite, Coventry Road, Bickenhill, B92 0EH
