Between Monday 23 May and Friday 22 July, Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV), working in partnership with HS2 Ltd, will carry out work on and around the slip road that connects the Coventry Road (A45) with East Way at the Bickenhill recycling centre.
Work will involve installation of a temporary power cable to enable the new railway to be built. Work will be completed in three phases as follows:
Phase 1 – Digging a trench in the area immediately south of the slip road in the car park used by the company Traffix. Traffic management is not expected at this stage but there may be some low-level noise.
Phase 2 – Full overnight closure of the slip road between Monday 6 June and Wednesday 6 July. The closure will be in place between Monday and Friday from 9pm to 5am. East bound traffic wishing to access East Way will be diverted around the Bickenhill Interchange roundabout over Junction 6 of the M42 resulting in a slight increase in journey times.
Phase 3 – Single lane closure on the slip road from Thursday 7 July until Friday 22 July, weekdays only between 9:30am and 3:30pm. Traffic will be able to access East Way as normal without being diverted.
