The Queens Baton Relay arrives in Marston Green on Tuesday 26 July at around 11.05am. Join us at the Memory Garden from 10am to mark this important occasion. Here are some things to look out for on the day:
Batonbearers
Hollie Perry and Sajida Golby will be two of those who have been chosen to carry the Queens Baton through our village. Sajida is the founder of North Solihull Additional Needs Support Group (NSANSG), who will be running an inclusive event at the Memory Garden from 10am, which will include craft and sporting activities, sensory play, and a visit from some furry friends.
Entertainers
We will be joined by Bread and Butter Theatre Company and Will E Droppit at the Memory Garden.
Bread and Butter have performed at events around the world, including the London 2012 Olympic Games and World EXPO in Shanghai. On Tuesday, they will be sending the Greenfinger Folk – Gilbert and Norbert, a pair of garden fairies who are waiting to solve all your gardening problems.
The multi-talented Will E Droppit has been entertaining children of all ages for over 20 years. As a clown and magician, he has worked all over the UK but is best known in here the Midlands.
Food and Drink
The Picnic Basket will be handling catering for this event. Hayley and her team will be selling Burgers, Hot Dogs and soft drinks.
And for those craving something sweeter (and colder), we will have an ice cream van on hand to serve up ice cream and lollies.
We look forward to seeing you all at the Memory Garden from 10am to mark this momentous occasion.
